MONDAY MORNING MESSAGE For The Eternal Body of Christ 4-25-11
What a great Resurrection service I attended this Easter weekend! The message was an in depth walk through the scriptures, covering the accounting of the risen Christ; where after placing Jesus’ body in the tomb, the stone was rolled away, the cloths which wrapped him lay undisturbed, he appeared to Mary Magdalene, to the Apostles and then finally to Thomas. (John 20:15)
The one thing that seemed to really resonate is this “Faith” issue that Thomas had; how Jesus (being the one who knows all) knows exactly how to give us what we need in order to seal the deal. Jesus knew his specific doubts and met him on it point for point. God is so merciful to us and He truly lavishes us with extravagant LOVE. You see; the next thing Jesus offers is a forward blessing (to future generations); Blessed are those whom believe that have not seen the Lord (face to face) as the disciples had, as Thomas did! John 20: 24-19
In this day and age, there is a common practice in business and in pledge giving; where the sponsor matches that of the giver! It’s a great business builder and a good-faith act toward the one who pledges. God and Christ are for sure the originators of this concept, mirrored in this promise and many others in the word. We see that when we pledge our FAITH in God, He matches it with HIS FAITHFULNESS. Beyond that He actually exceeds it!
It is always more than a fair deal when pertaining to the things of God. If we but only believe, we will never be shortchanged. It is a promise and a gift prior to the pledge…It’s a forward guarantee. “He whom trusts in the Lord will never be dismayed”…Isaiah 28:16
Place all your FAITH in the Lord! It’s such a guarantee, you have nothing to loose; except your doubt!
FAITH IN CHRIST:
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:1 Timothy 4:9-10 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.Romans 5: 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
MATCHED BY GOD’S FAITHFULNESS:
Psalm 37:28For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.Proverbs 2:7-8He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.8He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.Revelation 2:10Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Heavenly Father, the simple truths of You and Your Word are so Pure and Righteous, they can so easily be overlooked. We are a fickle bunch, conditioned by the ways of this world; which think to make things harder than they actually are. You are who You say You are, You are all powerful, all knowing, ALL GOOD Ever Capable, Unfailing, Good, Compassionate, Forgiving! All that anyone ever has to do is surrender to you with all their trust and place all their faith in your hands and their future (eternally) is secure. Lord help us to surrender all of our Faith as it is matched and surpassed by You to bring about every blessing! Thank you Lord for providing everything, all things, all the time, without fail, for everyone. Thank you for your Son whom died and rose again for us! We Love and serve you in honor of our Lord, Savior and Christ AMEN!
