Most things that are to be accomplished begin with a well thought out plan, something that is actionable. A trip begins with directions and a destination to get there. Methods and principles are used to govern and control many areas of life and day to day functionality. Let’s take for instance your car; if your alignment is out of whack it can cause immense problems in your ability to control the vehicle. It’s functionality depends upon each tire being perpendicular to the ground and parallel with it’s partner, both front and rear. There are methods for testing it and corrective actions that can make it perform optimally.
We travel the terrain of this world on a daily basis; work, friends, family, leisure and play; but have we stopped to make sure we are in alignment with God’s will for our lives? How can we do this and know that we have it right?…What is the baseline?….How can you know when it’s all set and you (the vehicle) are in true alignment? It begins by dissecting and establishing the main areas of life that we face collectively, daily. We begin by recognizing where our time is spent, what our overall mood is, our predominant thoughts, our areas of weakness, our strengths and making provision for the occasional what if (that would be the wild card) that seems to come your way (especially when you think you are fully aligned)
Naturally, there is a scripture for every area and facet of life (God is so wise) to provide to us a full recitation if we are inclined to search, learn and apply them. I have found several for the purpose of this topic that should at the least help you grab hold of the wheel in full confidence that progress can be made & maintained for you in your journey which ultimately means getting home, safe into the arms of God.
Dress for success… suit up before heading out…
11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
