Clearly, we are being signaled to Pay Attention. Many of our day to day activities, hobbies, interests & pastimes have been halted. Some have been voluntary while many have been forced.
We for sure live in a sin-sick, broken and disruptive world. But thankfully, we have a caring, kind and concerned Father in God almighty. Oh, what a mess things are but yet He is still there, trying to warn us, wake us up, imploring us to a better way, for a better day.
We have some who are playing by the rules, listening, seeking, searching, doing the best they can and trying to help others. We have others who are obstinant, foolish, selfish and simply looking to get over, under, around this situation as if they can outsmart or outrun that which they have no knowledge of. Simply put, only God knows what is ahead and we ought to get a little bit closer and open our eyes & ears to Him.
Many things have been pinched off but what would you do if the Television all of a sudden stopped broadcasting, and the Internet went away and cell phone service was halted?!
At first, you would probably freak out a little bit. You would keep checking on it, over & over again. Refreshing, refreshing, rebooting, checking and getting more & more frustrated. Realizing, it's your only entertainment, your only means of communication. Many people are working from home on the internet while many are still just perusing the www and social media now more than ever.
I say this, to hopefully get your attention. If it should happen, will you remember these words? "Do not panic!" replace panic with prayer. Start talking to God instead of seeking another outlet for your attention, for your rants, for your protesting, bad behavior, amusement or other distraction.
We know intrinsically, that all of the things happening now are just temporary. Maybe not as temporary as we wish but none the less, they will not last forever. Nothing here does & that is the whole point. Only God is forever and the choice we make for when this life ends.
By default, if do not make Him your choice; your non-choice is a choice of indifference. The Holy word of God says that those who are luke-warm will be spewed out of His mouth. Those who do not even acknowledge him are even less warm than luke. So what does that tell you?
Now is the day to make things right. Now is the time to choose. Why should you choose the Lord?! Because He is the only hope you truly have. Do not be ignorant of that fact. He alone can provide, protect and prepare a place for you.
REMEMBER, Do not panic, just relax into the knowledge that God has to get you in a place of quietude in order to truly communicate with you, in order for you to really communicate to Him. He is trying to do that now but are you still avoiding Him?
Tell Him how you are feeling, recognize that you need Him and cry out to Him. When the only call you can make is to God, He will answer!
